Cooking Class Participation Waiver & Release
Please review this agreement carefully before participating in a cooking class, workshop, or event offered by The Culinary Atelier.
Participation agreement
Assumption of Risk
I understand that participation in cooking classes and culinary activities involves inherent risks, including cuts, burns, slips, falls, and other injuries associated with preparing, cooking, and consuming food. Participants may use or be near knives, kitchen equipment, appliances, heat sources, and other cooking tools appropriate to the class and participant’s age and ability. I voluntarily assume the ordinary and inherent risks associated with participating.
Food Allergies & Dietary Restrictions
Classes may use or take place in an environment containing milk, eggs, wheat, soy, peanuts, tree nuts, fish, shellfish, sesame, and other allergens. The Culinary Atelier cannot guarantee an allergen-free environment or prevent cross-contact. I agree to disclose known food allergies and dietary restrictions. For a potentially serious allergy, I am responsible for determining whether participation is appropriate and providing necessary emergency medication.
Safety & Participant Conduct
The participant will follow safety instructions. A participant may be asked to stop an activity, use an alternative tool or technique, or leave if behavior creates an unreasonable safety risk. For children’s and teen classes, I authorize age-appropriate instruction in the safe use of kitchen equipment and tools.
Food Consumption
Participants may prepare, taste, consume, or take home food. I accept responsibility for deciding whether the participant should consume or take home food prepared during class.
Release of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by Colorado law, I release and hold harmless The Culinary Atelier, its owner, instructors, employees, contractors, and agents from claims arising from the ordinary and inherent risks of participation, except where liability cannot legally be waived or released. I understand that this agreement releases certain legal rights and voluntarily agree to its terms.
Emergency Care
If emergency medical attention is reasonably necessary and I cannot be reached, I authorize The Culinary Atelier to contact emergency medical services. I am responsible for medical expenses incurred for myself or my child.
